Accommodation and Life
The BBW offers its vocational trainees and rehabilitation patients a broad range of attractive residence opportunities, which will suit the individual needs and potential of youth and young adults. There are communal lodgings on-site as well as shared flats available in nearby downtown Chemnitz.
The purpose of having students live on the facility‘s premises is, first, to provide them with a familiar atmosphere, and second, to help them develop the abilities and skills they need for everyday life.
These youth will receive:
- Assistance in structuring their daily routine
- Instruction on mastering day-to-day tasks
- Training to get around in a focused, safe, and independent manner
- Orientation
- Help to plan and enjoy their leisure time
- Support in solving problems
Furthermore, we encourage a gradual transition from assisted living to independent living in an off-site shared apartment in suitable cases.
More than half of the vocational trainees at the BBW live in assisted and independent shared apartments off-site in the nearby neighborhood of Kassberg. For these residents, comfortable and modernized 3 and 4 room apartments with single and double rooms are available. These include common kitchens, bathrooms, and lounges.
The Help Centre in Kassberg is an important point of reference for off-site residents. In addition to an internet café, they can also take advantage of study help, special events, and extra assistance.
