Blind and visually impaired vocational trainees who are pursuing a certificate in physiotherapy have the opportunity to live in the associated dormitory for the duration of their study.

There is space for 34 youths.
The dormitory is near the vocational college in rented apartments in the attractive Wilhelminian neighborhood of Kassberg in Chemnitz. The youths live two or three to a flat, each of which has a kitchen, bathroom, and some are also equipped with balconies. All rooms are comfortably furnished. Household appliances and common rooms are provided.

Living and Learning

It`s important that young people feel comfortable, have the time to learn, and are able to get help to develop their skills for the duration of their vocational training. Modern reading aids are available to help with studying. Chemnitz and the SFZ offer a wide range of opportunities for individual leisure activities.  Whether the trainees prefer more artistic or physical activities, there is something for everyone.

All dormitory residents can take advantage of the Help Centre, the Vision Centre, and our specialists at no extra charge.

For acceptance into the dormitory, it is important that all potential physiotherapy trainees submit a generic application to the relevant agencies to cover the costs of their stay.
