Living on the territory in Flemming Street

The settlements on the site are primarily for new and participants minors. These participants usually attend a pre-professional course, a basic training for blind and visually impaired people or an aptitude test.

Youths and young adults with special needs for support due to complex disabilities and mobility impairments are provided with a room with bathroom and toilet in a barrier-free housing group.

75 places are available in different forms of accommodation (single, double, suite) on the premises. Most of the single rooms are equipped with private bathrooms. The group homes use common kitchen, group room, study room with computer work place and special aids. All rooms are furnished and equipped with modern media connections.

A renovated two-room apartment with bathroom and kitchen is used for family housing on the site and complements the diverse residential offerings of the BBW.

Trainees, who for various social reasons have no other place to live, are accommodated in the whole year living group. Eight single rooms with group rooms in a detached house with a garden are at their disposal.

All trainees live in family-like structures where they have mobility training and learn and consolidate practical life skills. The young people receive support in structuring their daily schedule and the planning and implementation of ideas for recreational activities. Learning aids and support measures are provided in order to ensure a successful training.

We encourage a gradual transition from assisted living to independent living in an off-site shared apartment.
