SFZ Berufsbildungswerk für Blind und Sehbehinderte Chemnitz Inc. (SFZ Vocational Training Facility for the Blind and Visually Impaired Chemnitz ? BBW) provides the initial training for young blind and visually impaired persons in recognized professions according to the German Vocational Training Law. Youths are prepared for an apprenticeship in the Prepatory Vocational Training phase. All educational streams end in a vocational skills test from the relevant testing councils (trades council, Chamber of Commerce, Governmental Presidium).
BBW?s vocational training programs are intended to constitute the supplemental training required by the German dual system. Practical training occurs in modern workshops and office units. Students must complete theory courses at the in-house vocational school, which serves as an official substitute for state vocational schools.
State-of-the-art technology and specialty school and workplace equipment for the blind and visually impaired are standard. Training and work takes place in small groups, which allows the staff to respond to the individual strengths and weakness of the trainees.
The full range of educational opportunities can be divided into trade and technical professions, commercial professions, and medical professions. Just click on one of the professions below for a job description.
