Vocational Training Area

(A recognized Workshop for the Disabled (WfbM) according to para. 142 of the Book of Social Laws (SGB) Book IX)

Work is important. The Workshop for the Visually Impaired (WVI) is there to help blind and visually impaired individuals to establish the foundation for an independent lifestyle. The Workshop comprises vocational training and work areas. There is also a special needs and support area.

In the training courses, which last one to two years, the trainees capabilities and personal growth are promoted with a personalized integration plan that prepares them for an occupation in the work area or on the labor market. The objectives set in the integration plan are evaluated regularly and extended as required.

The vocational training programs are divided into basic and advanced courses, in which the trainees can practice various work processes, life skills, and management of everyday situations. Furthermore, internships in various fields can be completed in the workshop, and these include practical instruction as well as theoretical material.

Besides tips on etiquette and cultural skills, courses on the properties of different materials, and regular training sessions on occupational safety, we also offer courses to promote concentration, memory, and communication. Our priority in each case is to foster the participant`s personal development individually, which is why we prefer to teach these skills as part of a hands-on project.
