Occupational prepatory education helps with the transition from school to the workplace. It is especially important for youth and young adults who have reached working age, but who have not yet achieved integration into the labor market for whatever reason. The objective is to enhance the necessary social skills, improve the candidate`s basic knowledge, and to teach special techniques for the blind and visually impaired for their working lives, which will enable them to achieve a successful start in their careers.
Our prepatory occupational education program takes 11 months and covers several levels of qualification enhancement, including:
After completing the suitability test, each candidate will receive a personalized qualification plan, the contents of which depend on the candidate?s occupational path and training requirements. A few hours of in-class instruction in the vocational school to further enhance the candidate?s basic skills is a component of every plan. Remedial German and math courses are also available to diminish any knowledge deficit. Another focal point of the training is to improve the candidate?s interpersonal communication skills, and to help him/her develop a dedicated attitude towards potential internships so that he/she can succeed in the working world. The candidates also receive support in the search for an appropriate internship or position.
